How it all began

Once upon a time...not really... As many of you know, we started the adoption process in June with the expectation that it would take 1 to 1.5 years to complete. Little did we know, one month later, just before Craig's 20th High School Reunion in Roseburg, Oregon, we "got the call" that a little boy had been born. Long story short, his birth mother chose us to be his forever family. We accepted almost immediately.

We received our first pictures of Cheng-Ruei Wang in early August, while in Couer d'Alene, Idaho celebrating the baptism of our good friends' adorable twin girls. The time it took for the computer to translate Chinese seemed like hours. We knew the instant we saw him, it was meant to be. He was the most beautiful little baby!

The next few months were a scramble to get all of our paperwork completed, home study done, and fingerprinting sent off. In November, all of our documents made it to the courts in Taiwan. Two long months of waiting, we finally had our court date in Taiwan on January 9th, after a phone call from the judge's representative. (Just wanted to make sure Craig was legit)

The first ruling happened 2 weeks later...one more to go. Whew!
Now to the present....

He is beautiful!!! We are so excited for you.
Remember you don't have to have everything before he arrives. A place to sleep, plenty of diapers, food and a car seat. That and love is all that kiddos really need. We have the crib mattress for you.
