January Update

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. For us it seemed to go by all too quickly. There is something magical though about a 4 year old getting so excited about the wonders of Christmas. We had a great time with family and friends. Kyle rediscovered a dancing Frosty the Snowman from last year who became his best friend the month of December. He also realized this year that presents are a fantastic thing - he had his list made out just after Thanksgiving. He also cut out all the toys he wanted from the ads and put them in a ziploc bag for safe keeping. Trains are still his favorite.

Our 1st court date on the 27th of December went very smoothly. So, we are on to the next phase of waiting - 8 to 10 weeks for our 1st decree. We are still hoping for April travel but need to have a final decree that will come a month or so after the first decree. Then an embassy appointment has to be set before we travel.

We continue to receive monthly updates - she is growing well - now nearly 14lbs at 3 months. We have updated photos that I attached here. These are from late November and early December. So much hair!

In the meantime, we are busy at home and beginning to work on the nursery. Kyle decided today that he wanted to help me paint - a true test of patience for both of us, but it was great to see him so excited about his sister. He is not very happy about covering up his animals, so we are "negotiating" which one gets painted over next. Negotiating is so much fun with a 4 year old. :)

Craig laughs at me (at least on the outside) every time I come home with baby clothing...hard to resist little pink flowers and frills. Lord help me. Craig and I had a discussion with some of our friends about "doing girl hair". Our friend (the dad) smiled at Craig and said, "Oh you will learn...trust me!"

We hope the new year brings you great joy, health, and peace.

CCK.
